For more than a decade, Pal Buddhist School has worked to provide an education that develops not only academic excellence, but also morality, discipline and wisdom.What began as one man's dream has grown into Australia's first and only Buddhist primary and high school.
Against the odds, our students have gone on to achieve remarkable success, and in 2026, the school was awarded the number 1 ranking in top performing affordable independent schools in NSW and the ACT, and ranked number 2 in the whole of Australia.
The Next Chapter
To meet the growing demand from families seeking a wholesome education, we are working towards building our own Campus in Leppington.
This is a very exciting project for our community because we have been operating in a rental property for the last 13 years
To bring this vision to life, we need to raise $25 million.To put our goal into perspective, St Anthony of Padua Catholic College in Austral is reported to have cost approximately $98 million to build.
By comparison, our $25 million fundraising target is a much smaller project, making it an achievable goal when our community comes together behind a shared vision.
What You Contribute To
The proposed campus will include:
🏫 16 Modern Classrooms - Providing learning spaces for hundreds of future students. (Potential to expand to 2 floors with 32 classrooms)
🏛️ Multi-Function Hall - A central gathering place for assemblies, performances, ceremonies and community events.
🎨 Art Studios - Dedicated creative spaces where students can develop imagination, self-expression and confidence.
🎵 Music Studios - Purpose-built facilities for music education, band practice and performances.
🔬 Science Laboratories - Modern science classrooms where students can explore, experiment and develop critical thinking skills.
🌳 Outdoor Learning and Community Spaces - Areas that encourage mindfulness, wellbeing and connection with nature.
How You Can Contribute
Consider the following:
If 200,000 people chose to forgo just one $10 coffee each month and instead donated that amount to this project, together they would contribute more than $24 million over a year.For those who are in a position to give more, a donation of $1,000 would mean we need only 25,000 supporters to reach our goal.

THE BUDDHA'S TEACHINGS ON
GENEROSITY (DĀNA)
A gift of wisdom for the parents of our school community
Dear parents, the Buddha placed generosity first among all the perfections, and taught it as the very first step of the gradual path, before virtue and before meditation.
What follows are his own words from the Pali canon, offered so that the giving you do for our school community may be done with a glad heart, understanding its fruit.
Why Give?
“If beings knew, as I know, the results of giving and sharing, they would not eat without having given.”
Itivuttaka 26
“What's given bears fruit as pleasure. What isn't given does not: thieves take it away, or kings; it gets burnt by fire or lost.”
Saṁyutta Nikāya 1.41
“What the miser fears, that keeps him from giving, is the very danger that comes when he doesn't give.”
Saṁyutta Nikāya 1.32
“No misers go to the world of the devas. Those who don't praise giving are fools. The enlightened express their approval for giving, and so find ease in the world beyond.”
Dhammapada 177
“Conquer anger with lack of anger; bad, with good; stinginess, with a gift; a liar, with truth.”
Dhammapada 223
The Fruits of Giving
The Buddha taught five rewards of generosity visible in this very life and beyond:
one is dear and appealing to people at large; one is admired by good people; one's good name is spread about; one does not stray from the duties of the householder; and at the break-up of the body, after death, one reappears in a good destination.
— Aṅguttara Nikāya 5.35
HOW A PERSON OF INTEGRITY GIVES
A person of integrity gives a gift in five ways:

with conviction;

attentively and with respect;

in season, when it is timely;

with an empathetic heart;

and without adversely affecting himself or others.
Each way of giving, the Buddha taught, ripens in its own blessing.
— Aṅguttara Nikāya 5.148
And the highest motive of all is to give neither for reward nor recognition, but with the thought: “This is an ornament for the mind, a support for the mind.” Such giving, the Buddha said, bears the greatest fruit of all.

"A gift of Dhamma conquers all gifts."
Dhammapada 354
When you give your hours to the school community, you give so that wisdom may keep flowing to every child.
