Principal

Pal Buddhist School is a community focused on nurturing each student's potential in a safe, inclusive environment. While providing a strong academic foundation based on the NSW NESA curriculum, the school's core mission is to develop ethical leaders. It achieves this through a holistic approach that integrates mindfulness and ethical reflection, and by fostering a strong partnership between teachers, families, and the community. The ultimate goal is to empower students for both academic success and a meaningful life.

Zoe Shaw

Director of Primary

As Director of Primary, my core purpose is to mindfully cultivate a nurturing and interconnected learning environment where each child's innate curiosity and inner growth flourish. I guide our dedicated teachers in creating experiences that foster not only academic foundations but also inner peace, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging within our Pal Buddhist School community, working closely with families to support each unique journey of self-discovery.

Andrew Calvert

Director of Studies

At Pal, we believe that true learning is a rewarding journey that requires both effort and support. As Director of Studies, my goal is to ensure our students are equipped for success by focusing on effective, research-backed teaching methods. We are dedicated to the Science of Learning, which means we only use strategies that have been proven to work in the real world.

We offer a holistic education that thoughtfully balances rigorous academics with a wide range of extracurricular programmes. This balanced approach allows us to use every moment effectively and avoid educational fads that don’t contribute to lasting growth.

A strong partnership between our teachers, our families, and the wider community is essential to our success. We promote complete transparency between home and school values, making the process of learning and growing into adulthood a collaborative journey, not a mystery.

Bodhidasa

Director of Welfare

As the Director of Welfare, my responsibility is to nurture the inner growth of students and to foster a compassionate and supportive community for everyone.

I cultivate a mindful environment by implementing programmes designed to promote emotional, social, and mental health. By working closely with students, their families, and our dedicated staff, my goal is to help young people build resilience and a strong sense of interconnectedness, ensuring they thrive both in school and in life.
